Chapter Grand: Legendary Baseball Star and Loyal Phi

Bruce Heine ’68 entered Chapter Eternal on September 11, 2013. He was a member of the 1966 OSU national championship baseball team, starting at second base. He went on to become a charter member of the Buckeye Diamond Club, an organization he would later become president of. He was a driving force and chief fundraiser for Ohio State’s baseball facility, Bill Davis Stadium, which opened in 1997. He coached the Warhawks Babe Ruth All-Star team, winning several state championships, and also coached the Delaware Cows college-age summer team.
