5 Reasons You Should Take a Victory Lap for Ohio ZetaIt is easy to become distracted by life swirling around us — families and kids, careers, service and other activities. So, we are going to make this easy for you. Here is a quick rundown on why you can STILL be proud to be an Ohio Zeta Phi Delt, including our new chapter advisor, Brother Cort Schafer ’09. You have helped build this foundation.

WE ARE MAKING HEADLINES, NOT SCANDALS

As you read in last month’s eLetter, our undergraduates are charging ahead on campus. They are taking on impressive leadership positions on campus, starting new businesses, securing impressive internships, raising money for important medical research and keeping their focus on our core Phi Delt values.

WE HAVE A NEW CHAPTER ADVISOR!

We are proud to announce that Cort Schafer ’09 is taking on the position of chapter advisor. Cort replaces Ed Stange ’09 who has served our undergraduates well over the past few years. Ed and his wife are expecting their second child. Please join us in thanking Ed and wishing him all the best with their growing family.

Cort hails from Oakwood, Ohio, and was a personal finance major. He currently works for Tyco Integrated Security in Columbus as part of their strategic accounts division. He is engaged to his fiancée, Krissy, who was introduced to him by a fellow Phi Delt.

“This role is important as a sounding board for the active chapter and to act as a liaison to the alumni,” Cort explains. “Our alumni need to be more involved, especially as mentors to the chapter. Additionally, the house needs some work to meet the needs of members today. I want to be part of this and challenge other alumni to do the same.”

GREEK BEST PRACTICES

As you can read in our monthly eLetters, we continue to share our knowledge of what other chapters are doing to stay ahead of the curve. Some are adding live-in advisors. Others are going dry. Many are putting more focus on recruiting men who better align with their fraternity’s core values. When you have time, please CLICK HERE to read our “4 Critical Steps” article. WHAT WE DO FOR OTHERS

Our alumni and undergraduates continue to give back to their local communities. This fall, our undergrads’ Fight Night raised $4,000 for ALS research.
