Brother Robert Arthur Tulk '48 enters Chapter Eternal

Robert Arthur Tulk died at the age of 94 on January 7, 2018 at John Muir Hospital in Concord, California. Robert, or better known as “Bob” and “Papa” was a native of Tiffin, Ohio. He received an engineering degree at Ohio State University and was an avid fan of Buckeye sports. He served in both WWII and the Korean war as a Naval Officer.

After the Korean War, he remained in the Naval Reserves and was employed by Convair/General Dynamics in San Diego. There he was on the development team for the Atlas Missile program.  At the end of the Atlas program Bob and his family moved to Concord, California, his home for the next 52 years.  Bob worked for Kaiser Engineers in Oakland until his retirement after 21 years of employment.  He enjoyed being a member of the Concord Elks, Concord SIR’s, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Walnut Creek Methodist Church. Over the years, you could find him enjoying a game of ping-pong and shuffleboard in his backyard or relishing an afternoon of golf with the Walnut Creek Men’s Golf Club.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his adoring sweetheart of 68 years, Rosemarie Tulk of Concord, sons Arthur R. Tulk and wife Janet of Rancho Palos Verdes and Bruce M. Tulk of Pittsburg, daughter Victoria A. Hines of Clayton, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The love and unwavering support he had for his family is what will live on forever.
